Hurricane Florence Update

We are closely monitoring Hurricane Florence, and we will continue to assess the impact of the storm on our associates, facilities and customers as the situation progresses. The safety and well-being of our associates is a top priority, as is supporting our customers with continuity of supply of BD products.

We are largely operating as normal and expect that to continue through Tuesday and Wednesday. We expect a small number of manufacturing locations in the path of the storm to experience temporary production interruptions, as our associates abide by the evacuation orders and/or state of emergency declarations from local, state or federal officials. We do not currently believe these temporary production interruptions will affect product availability.

We also have a distribution center in the projected path of the storm, which is working diligently to fill orders in advance of an expected mandatory facility shutdown on Thursday and Friday, based on anticipated emergency declarations from local officials. However, there is significant potential of logistics delays due to carrier availability and access in and out of the area. BD suggests customer sites implement their contingency plans immediately to mitigate the potential for delivery disruptions due to carrier availability or debris and flooding along delivery routes. In addition, BD has implemented contingency plans to re-direct orders to alternate distribution centers, should that be needed. Customers are not required to change any normal ordering practices at this time.

If there are any changes in our ability to supply products, we will immediately update affected customers and provide further instructions. If you have questions about an order, please contact your BD sales representative or customer support.
