On Wednesday September 28th, the Rhode Island Free Clinic presented Claflin with the 2016 Founders’ Award for extraordinary philanthropic and technical support of Rhode Island Free Clinic and their patients. Claflin has worked with the Clinic to embark on a new partnership to provide information technology training to young people through a RealJobs RI grant.

United States Senator Jack Reed honored Claflin with a Certificate of Accomplishment in recognition on receiving the Founders’ Award.
